Mont Blanc by TobiasRichter Mont Blanc by TobiasRichter
A stunning blaze of colors above the highest mountain of the Alps rising 4810 m above sea level. The panorama shows the reflection of the Mont Blanc Massif in a small mountain lake not far from the ‘Aiguillette du Brevent’.

Let me apologise right now before I go any further and to any moderator please do not ban me. The colours are both fucking stunning and amazing. Your photo brings out the inner pirate in me and is almost as beautiful as a pretty vagina to a horny devil like me. However instead of my cock it fucks my mind in a very orgasmic way. The lake remains placid as if commanded to by the splendid, beautiful mountains in the background. Words are not doing justice to your composition which is very gorgeous, beautiful and refreshing. Once again sorry about the profanity but it is fucking great. Very good.

I love the composition and reflection. The colors are gorgeous as well. I do have one question. Do you double process the image? Once for everything except the mountains and then again for the mountain? I'd love to know so I can grow as a photographer myself! Thanks!

Thanks! I used a second Exposure for the highlights.

Ah! You and a select few other do that with your images and I've been trying different processes but still hasn't been the same. Thank you for your honest response. Some people are real a-holes when it comes to answering a technical question.

No Problem. I don't use any HDR software and do all blending manualy in photoshop. You can use these tutorials if you want to know more [link] and [link] .

I definitely utilize blending images together, whether it is using the blue channel, which I haven't done for quite some time, doing it manually, or double processing an image. And Tony's luminosity mask tutorial is amazing. He is quite a nice guy and is always open to chat via email, so I've made it a point to do just that. The second link however I haven't heard of and you can bet your ass I'll be reading it. Have you looked at joe rossbach's tutorials at all? He's got some interesting stuff. And the only thing I use HDR for is architecture for dilapidated houses such as [link] or [link]

The key to natural blending is not to blend just the highlight from the image you use in this area. You have to blend the full image on the sky for example. You got one exposure for the sky and one for the rest of the shot for example. Don't use just the hightlights from the short exposure or you get wrong results.
I hope you understand my explanation.

I understand one hundred percent. You shot the scene to expose for the whole sky, not just the highlights. So why try to blend them with an underexposed sky? Just use the sky you originally shot for.

I use a basic exposure for the foreground mostly with grad filter. Then I add a second exposure for the areas around the sun if it's needed.

If I don't use grad filters I use one exposure for the foreground and one for the full sky. If it's needed a third exposure for the areas around the sun.

This photo is incredible. I love the colours! They contrast so neatly with the mountains but blend at the same time. If that makes any sense. :XD: Good job! :D
